How to Color Strawberry Rain boots: A Cute and Easy Coloring Tutorial for Beginners

Follow Along with This Free Coloring Practice Page!

Free coloring practice printout for how to color strawberry rain boots. Page gives a step-by-step guide for the how to color strawberry rain boots as an easy coloring tutorial for beginners.

How to Color Super Cute Strawberry Rain boots

For this technique, I used two alcohol markers (pink/red for the strawberry and green for the leaves) and two gel pens (white for the seeds and green for the leaves), but feel free to use whatever mediums you love! If you swap out the gel pens, make sure your replacement is opaque—like acrylic markers—since they’ll be going over other colors. You can also add extra colors for shading if you’d like; this tutorial focuses more on the design than lighting so it can work for any page, no matter where your light source is.

Ready to try it out? Print the free practice page above and follow along with the step-by-step guide on the sheet, or on your screen to learn how to color some super cute strawberry rain boots!

Step 1: Cute Leafy Top

Using your green alcohol marker (a fine tip works best, but other tips work great too!), draw a scalloped line across the boot to create the edge of the leaves, then color in the remaining space. These will be the strawberry leaves on the boots.

Step 2: Sweet Strawberry Color

Shows step two for how to color strawberry rain boots. Shows the green leafy top colored, and the pink part of the strawberry rain boot colored.

Using your red/pink marker color in the rest of the boot, trying to go up to the edge of the green without coloring over it. Don't worry if the colors bleed together a bit, we will be going over that edge later. If you'd like to add some shading, you can do that during this step too.

  • Let your markers dry 30-60 seconds

Step 3: Strawberry Seeds -

Shows step three for how to color strawberry rain boots. Shows the green leafy top colored, the pink part of the strawberry rain boot colored and the strawberry seeds colored.

Using a white gel pen, draw in the seeds of the strawberry — this adds a really cute touch to the boots!

Step 4: Leafy Details -

Shows step four for how to color strawberry rain boots. Shows the green leafy top colored, the pink part of the strawberry rain boot colored, the strawberry seeds colored, and the green accents for the leaves colored.

Using a green gel pen, color over the edge of the leaves—this covers up any bleed, creating a cute edge. Then add a few lines on the strawberry leaves for some extra oomph.

Step 5: Try it on an Actual Coloring Page!

You can follow the same steps on any page you like and make it your own. Try new colors, add extra details, and watch your strawberry rain boots come to life in a way that’s uniquely yours!
